Happy Tuesday, My Lovelies!  Did you have a nice Labor Day yesterday?  I hope you had a nice time grilling out with your family.  And if you didn't grill, I hope you had a lovely day and ate something delicious!

Today I'm joining fourteen other stylists as we share our Welcome Fall Tablescapes!

Sweet Rita from the Panoply blog hosts our blog hop parties.
Thank-you, Rita, for your hard work in hosting.  You're the best!

I wanted to use these fairly new napkins on my table.  The neutral seersucker ones were purchased from Anthropologie, and the bright yellow check napkins are from Farmhouse Pottery.

When I was looking around for table linens and tableware for this tablescape, I decided to go with mostly neutrals and yellow.  I think these colors are reminiscent of autumn, especially the browns.

The yellow cabbage rose tablecloth is the most summery thing on the table.  But this table is definitely a transition from summer to fall.  The checked table runner with the bright yellow stitching complements it.

The little salt and pepper shaker set is definitely a nod to autumn.  I like how it matches the table runner.

I chose chrysanthemums and sunflowers for the centerpiece.  Sunflowers are so plentiful this time of the year, and I love the colors of the mums.

For the past couple of falls I've taken out this espresso set.  The colors remind me of fall.
I also like how the cups and saucers look with our Longaberber stoneware.

I love the bright sunflower napkin rings.  Yellows and golds are lovely colors for fall!

Welcome Fall with Neutrals and Yellows

Happy Monday, My Lovelies!  How was your weekend?  Ours was nice.  We were actually in town for the first weekend in a really long time.

Today is Bastille Day!  To celebrate, I put together a little tablescape in honor of our French friends.  We owe a wee bit of our Independence here in the USofA to the French and their help during the Revolutionary War and the War of 1812.

If I could get away with it, I would eat cake everyday.  I think cake is the perfect treat for Bastille Day, don't you?  But we are having small bites: little petit fours with our daughter's favorite tea, "Paris," by Harney & Sons.  We had birthday cake last week for Independence Day and Shelley's birthday; Mr. Bookish's birthday is Thursday, and my mom's is Saturday.  "Let them eat cake," indeed!  We need to go easy on the sweets today.  ;P

My husband has French ancestry, plus he's from New Orleans.  His parents lived right around the corner from the French Consulate in the Garden District.  Our daughters both have French middle names in honor of this heritage.

Below are the resources used on our table.  I don't think anything is new.

French Toile Placemats:  The Metropolitan Museum of Art
White Crochet-Trimmed Napkins:  Vintage
Spoons:  Horchow
China:  (From our wedding registry) Rosedale by Wedgwood
Marie Antoinette vase and napkin rings:  Molly Hatch via Anthropology
Ribbon:  Michael's Crafts

If you're looking for something to read today, here are three recommendations:

The Balcony is about a French country estate and the families who lived their over the span of about a century.
All the Light We Cannot See is a WWII historical fiction that is one of my all-time favorite books.  Please read this book!
Paris is nonfiction, and it takes us on a tour of all twenty of the city's arrondissements.  I found it fascinating!

I hope you have a lovely week!

Until next time...

Blessings!

Bastille Day 2025

Happy Tuesday, My Lovelies!  Today I'm sharing with y'all my Americana Tablescape for Summer.  There are seventeen total stylists participating in this Summer Tablescape Blog Hop hosted by my friend Rita from the Panoply blog.  If you're blog hopping in order, then your list visit was at the Mantel and Table blog.

Thanks so much for hosting these parties, Rita.  They are always so much fun!

One day recently in my inbox I saw a fun Americana napkin set from Terrain.  I loved all four patterns, and as a MacKenzie-Childs collector, I've always enjoyed mixing patterns.  These napkins were my inspiration for this table.  I also purchased the Americana banner as well.  You can see it in the background of the photo below.

I enjoy using red, white, and blue in tablescapes and other decor.  Our classroom/library is painted red, and I used shades of blues, whites and a little red in the upholstery and pillows.  I'm a proud American, and I love our country.  I like showcasing our patriotism in our decor.

I have been collecting some of the MacKenzie-Childs Limited Edition Collectors' Mugs.
The one above with the little gold star is the June 2025 mug.

Above are the four plate stacks with the four different napkins.  The star-shaped placemats are all the same.  I chose Mackenzie-Childs patterns with blues, reds, greens, and yellows to match my table runner.  I also coordinated mugs with the napkins and plate stacks.

Because our breakfast room table is rather narrow, I chose the MacKenzie-Childs Royal Stripe top hat bud vase.  The centerpiece features white spray roses, baby's breath, a mophead hydrangea, red roses, and Aloha Blue Ageratum.  I purchased the flowers at Bloom and Petal, a local florist.
I almost always use red roses on patriotic or Americana tablescapes because the red rose is our national flower.

This is an overhead view of the table.  I have it set for breakfast with bowls, plates, and mugs.
Our breakfast room table has a maple cutting board top, and it has been indestructible.  We have enjoyed many family meals tucked around this table.

For many years I have enjoyed using a couple of Taylor patterns in patriotic tablescapes:  King Ferry (ruffled luncheon plate) and Stoke Gabriel (berry bowl).  I have more pieces from these two patterns because I use them a lot with red, white, and blue settings.  They are two of my favorite patterns.

I hope you enjoyed your visit today!  If you're going in order, my blog is the last one on the list.  Thanks for your perseverance!  If you would like to go back and visit a few of your favorites, below is the list and links for all participants.

Americana Tablescape for Summer

Happy Tuesday, My Lovelies!  I am so happy you're visiting my blog.  Today we're sharing our Valentine's Day tablescapes.  If you're linking in order, you just left Linda's gorgeous blog.  She always creates the most fun tablescapes, doesn't she!

My Friend Rita from the Panoply Blog hosts these blog hop parties, and she does such a nice job organizing everything and keeping us on track.

Thank-you so much, Rita, for organizing these talescape blog hops.  You're the best!

I found these felt conversation hearts at Michaels a few weeks ago, and I thought they were so cute that I purchased them.  I was planning to use them as filler in a glass vase, but I changed my mind and scattered them on a plain pink linen table runner.

I set our breakfast room table for breakfast for two (for Mr. Bookish and me).  I used very old placemats I purchased from Kohl's several years ago.  I also used a few MacKenzie-Childs heart pieces (small plates and paperweights).

The plate stacks consist of MacKenzie-Childs flat rimmed dinner plates and Royal Check and Rosy Check heart-shaped plates.  I thought it would be fun to use the Royal Check on the table for Mr. Bookish.  I also set the table with linen napkins that match the runner.

Mr. Bookish has already put in a request for heart-shaped scones, hot tea, coddled eggs, and toast for breakfast.

It's a simple tablescape, but we think it's super fun.

Conversation Hearts Tablescape for Valentine's Day

Tuesday, January 28, 2025

Happy December, My Lovelies!  Are you having a nice Advent Season so far?  We started December in New Orleans, and it was so much fun visiting friends.  I feel very organized this year, and I'm planning to have more quiet time for devotion and Advent studies.

Today I'm joining fourteen other stylists for a Christmas Tabelscape Blog Hop Party hosted by Sweet Rita from the Panoply Blog.

Thank-you so much, Rita, for hosting these tablescape blog hops.
They're always so much fun!

If you're hopping in order, you just visited Patti's blog, Pandora's Box.  I want to thank you for linking over to my little corner of the internet.  I have been looking forward to this for weeks!

The theme for this tablescape in our dining room is "evergreen."  I was inspired by my new napkins from GreenRow.  I was smitten when I saw them on their site, and I ordered a set of them.  GreenRow is a brand whose parent company is Williams-Sonoma.

The cheerful napkins feature different types of evergreen trees on a jaunty background of contemporary chartreuse polka dots.

The plate stacks feature modern plates from Crate and Barrel.  I've had them for many years.

I decided on a living "evergreen" centerpiece planted in a vintage Annie Glass boat from San Francisco.

I chose a selection of ferns and white cyclamen.  I like the frosty fern because it looks wintry.

I also purchased a set of green glasses from GreenRow.
The fun evergreen wreath napkin rings are new, and they're from Hobby Lobby.

I also decorated the Welsh Dresser with candles, a flocked tree, and felt garland.

If you're looking for a fun Christmas read, may I recommend:

For to us a child is born,

and the government shall be upon his shoulder,

Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,

Of the increase of his government and of peace
