Last night we invited a couple of neighbors up for appetizers and champagne to toast the New Year. They were hosting a dinner party later that we could not attend because I still can't go up and down stairs. My daughter helped decorate our little kitchen table for us and our friends. She has been so helpful and good to me while I recover from surgery! I wanted to share some pictures of our tablescape with you.
We used a mixture of things we had in the house. The tablecloth was an ebay purchase several years ago. We received the harvest and millenium champagne flutes as anniversary presents from New Orleans friends. The votives are from Anthropologie and Shabby Chic, but I do not know if they are still available for purchase. The silver tray is rather old, and it is from Mexico.
Our centerpiece rests on an antique silver tray that has been in our family for a very long time. Shanley Belle, my daughter, filled glass cylinders with a French Happy New Year postcard, Hershey's kisses, and glass Christmas ornaments. Again, we used more votives from Shabby Chic and Anthropologie.
We served our appetizers on our Wedgwood Rosedale salad plates. The napkins are wedding gifts.
The small candlestick is from MacKenzie-Childs, and the crystal vase belongs to my daughter. She won it in a horse show. I love the way girls are presented with beautiful gifts for their hope chests along with their blue ribbons. The silver bowl in the background is also a wedding gift.

This is a good picture of the Christmas ornaments. The two vases on each side of the tray are MacKenzie-Childs thistle vases my daughters bought me for Mother's Day.
