Hello, My Lovelies! I hope you are well and having a lovely summer. I'm beginning to see the first of the back-to-school ads, and it isn't even Independence Day yet! In other news, we had our first day of sunshine after weeks of rainy and stormy days. And with the sunny skies, the heat has returned. But that's okay!
Today I wanted to share with you a few projects I've been working on in my art studio. I've accomplished much because of the rain keeping me inside. The first thing I want to share is a finished oil painting from a photo I took on our trip last year. It's a cartouche from the Imperial Apartments at Göttwieg Abbey in Krems, Austria.

This is the finished reading tag journal for May.
This is an example of a handmade bookmark I made for Jenny Hickman's For Ever.
This is a special edition book.
I mentioned in an earlier post that I was fighting a cold at the beginning of June, and that I had been drinking copious amounts of hot tea. Below is my new favorite recipe for tea, and it is made from a Chocolate Earl Grey Tea, the "Cozy" blend based on Meg's Tea Room (an Instagram influencer) by Cliché Teas.
We were about three weeks late signing-up for our summer community supported agriculture box. We received our first box on Thursday, and we are very happy with it.
We were pleasantly surprised with these muffins.
I will share more CSA recipes this summer. Stay tuned!

Ricki Jill, I love all the beauty you've shared in this post. I know we each have our stressors in our lives, but these are each a beautiful means to a charmed lifestyle approach to mitigating stress. Your book tags and cartouche are wonderfully detailed. I'm looking forward to seeing more.
ReplyDeleteHello sweet friend. The Cherry Plum muffins sound and look yummy. I wish I had a 1/4 of your artistic talents. Everything you create is so beautiful. Have a great week. Hugs. Kris
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your beautiful creativity with us, Ricki Jill. I loved seeing your lovely God given gifts. The recipe for the tea sounds like something I’d love and I’ll take a muffin that you made with my tea, please!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, the painting!!! It is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteAtticus and I attended a watercolor painting workshop. It was fun. He does not take time to paint like he did. I am thankful for all the art I do have of his. One of my favorites is a Madonna he did for me using oil paint.
Love and Prayers, thank you for sharing all this beauty today.

Ricki Jill, the cartouche is breathtaking! We were there at Gottwieg Abbey in September 2023. The book tags are so lovely. You are very talented. The muffins and the tea sound delicious. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit and the beauty that you shared!
ReplyDeleteI love your photography - you have such a good eye! How did you make your collage/recipe card?
ReplyDeleteRicki Jill, your panel painting is magnificent. I am in awe -- you could hang that on the wall of a palace! Cherry plum isn't a combo I would have thought of but it sounds fantastic. And I really love your cards/tags. Can't wait to see what you do with them. They're so pretty! Your CSA box looks good. I need to check out your gazpacho recipe!
ReplyDeleteOh my, that painting is outstanding!! You are so amazingly talented.
