Christmas Cookie Round-up: My Six Favorite Christmas Cookie Recipes

Monday, December 11, 2017

Happy Monday, My Lovelies!  Can you believe that Christmas is only two weeks from today?  You're probably totally up to your elbows in Christmas baking right now, so I thought I'd help by putting together this little post of my six favorite Christmas cookie recipes.

Please click on the link below each photo to see the recipe.

This is by far our family's favorite cookie.

A perennial Southern favorite, you'll see these babies at many Southern Christmas parties.

The perfect combination of crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside

Oh, yes...there is malted milk in these little babies, that combined with the chocolate make these my all-time favorite Christmas cookie.

a traditional Christmas cookie in Germany, Denmark and The Netherlands

These are meringue cookies, so they are as light as they are chocolaty!

Many of these recipes are from last year's advent calendar:

I bought mine at Anthropologie.

Lately I've been baking these babies:

Red Velvet Crinkle Cookies with White Chocolate Chips

This recipe is from the McCormick website.  I added the white chocolate chips because I saw something similar on Pinterest.

Red Velvet Crinkle Cookies with White Chocolate Chips

Ingredients:

1 2/3 cups flour
1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, softened
1 1/4 cups granulated sugar
2 eggs
1 1/2 teaspoons McCormick® Red Food Color
1 teaspoon McCormick® Pure Vanilla Extract
1/2 cup confectioners' sugar
1 cup white chocolate chips

Procedure:

Mix flour, cocoa powder, baking powder and salt in medium bowl. Set aside. Beat butter and granulated sugar in large bowl with electric mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy. Add eggs, food color and vanilla; mix well. Gradually beat in flour mixture on low speed until well mixed.  Stir in white chocolate chips.  Refrigerate 4 hours.

Preheat oven to 350°F. Shape dough into 1-inch balls. Roll in confectioners’ sugar mixture to completely coat. Place 2 inches apart onto baking sheets sprayed with no stick cooking spray.

Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until cookies are puffed. Cool on baking sheets 2 minutes. Remove to wire racks; cool completely.

Have you been baking Christmas Cookies this holiday season?  What kind have you baked?

Until next time...

Blessings!

  3. Those red velvets make my mouth water! I have been making lots of sugar cookies with royal icing lately! I made the mistake of posting them on Instagram and then had people asking me to make them!
We do a lot of chocolate dipping and less cookie making so I have had double duty!

  7. I haven't baked a single cookie so far! Sad, I know! I will make my grandmother's Ginger Dreams for sure. We once had a friend that came up after a party and told me he ate 22 of them that night. LOL He was a little OCD and counted everything.

Thanks for all the great recipes. xo Diana

  11. Oh my, you are killing me with all these pictures and recipes!! I am going to pin them all but won't be making any this year. I usually make about 12 different kinds of cookies but the arthritis in my hands is bad this year so I won't be making any :-( Thanks for the recipes!
