Halloween Wrap-up Random and WTH is a Butterfinger Cup???

Tuesday, November 1, 2016

You may see my Halloween tablescape in our dining room HERE.

Happy All Saints Day, My Lovelies!  November is here!!!  Guess what I'm doing today?  Cleaning house and putting away all things Halloween!

Did you have tons of Trick-or-Treaters last night?  We always do in our neighborhood because it's kids' heaven out here.  We buy tons of candy each year, but we also have a few leftovers.

A big bowl of candy awaits the neighborhood kids in our foyer.

I saw the most fun infograph about the most popular Halloween candy per state.  Check it out:

Apparently Airheads are the most popular in my state (Alabama).  My favorite candy:  Snickers!  I need to trick-or-treat in either Alaska or Illinois!  See!!!  Now you see why Chicago is one of my favorite cities.   ;P

My daughter went to the Relient K concert here in Birmingham last night, and they recently released a few Halloween-themed songs.  One is a cute song about Halloween candy.

Please press play and listen to this cute song!  Lyrics are posted below.

Relient K
"The Cup" Lyrics

[Verse 1]
Some kids smile at Sweetarts sweet hearts
It's so sad
But three cheers for Three Musketeers
Out there fighting the good low-fat food fight all night
That's right, three cheers for Three Musketeers
Reese's Cup was the candy they all measured up to
Snickers bar's no fun in the fun size
Butterfingers are tough to beat
But they stick to the tops and the bottoms of my teeth
And I know that can't be good for me
[Chorus]
Let me catch you up
There's a crunchy new cream of the crop
It's called the Butterfinger Cup
The Butterfinger Cup
Butterfinger Cup
[Verse 2]
Honey, nobody likes Bit-O-Honey
Falling down into their plastic pumpkin receptacle
Why don't you give something respectable
Like a baby bag of M+Ms or a Watchama, Whatchamacallit?
[Chorus]
Let me catch you up
There's a crunchy new cream of the crop
It's called the Butterfinger Cup
The Butterfinger Cup
Butterfinger Cup
Butterfinger
Butterfinger Cup
Butterfinger Cup
Butterfinger Cup
The Butterfinger
[Bridge]
Ding dong
Hey, it's me
Uh, do you have any candy?
You do, what kind?
A Butterfinger Cup?
Can I have one, please?
I get it, you were just saying
Yeah, I mean, I ain't got a costume
And I ain't got a disguise, but, I'm just your neighbor
With butter cups for eyes
Give him the trophy
Tell the Cup he's number one
'Cause you've got to love
You've got to love the Butterfinger, Butterfinger
[Chorus]
Butterfinger Cup
The Butterfinger Cup
Butterfinger Cup
Butterfinger
Butterfinger Cup
The Butterfinger Cup
Butterfinger Cup
The Butterfinger
Gimme, gimme, gimme
Butterfinger
I want some in my guts
Yes, those Butterfinger Cups
They're delicious
Not quite nutritious, but so delicious
Gimme, gimme, gimme, those Butterfinger, Butterfinger cups
Gimme, gimme, gimme, want some in my guts
Butterfinger Cups

So what the heck is a Butterfinger Cup?  Where have you been all my life I want to know?!?!?
I found an image online.

Hmmmm....I don't notice the Butterfinger Cup on the map.

So I have three questions for you.  Please answer in the comment section below:

1.   What is your favorite Halloween candy?
2.   What is your state's favorite Halloween candy?
3.   Have you ever partaken of the Butterfinger Cup?

Until next time...

Blessings!

  3. beautiful table scape!!

We don't have some of those candies here in Canada,,at least not in our Province,, becasue we lived in a rural area Halloween was more a party in the community Hall and my favorite candy is still caramel apples for Halloween! Its something that is always at the parties, popcorn balls and Caramel apples, homemade treats are safe because we are all neighbors at the parties,, the farms are all too far apart for trick or treating.

  5. Hi Ricki, I have not had a Butterfinger cup but Butterfingers are my all-time favorite! Now that Halloween is over, I guess Christmas is not that far away :)

  6. Darn it! Lost my comment. My daughter had the BF cups last night at her house but I did not try one. I do love a Butterfingers-except they stick in your teeth...and once in a while I get a craving for an Almond Joy.
I just looked-our state candy is Laffy Taffy (go figure)...lol
AND I could eat a BAG of candy corn all by myself...sad....just plain sad. xo Diana

  7. Oh I love this post and your Halloween tablescape. What a neat map, candy map! Cute song RJ. Hard questions. I love candy, so if I have to choose one it has to be Hershey's chocolate bar. We have the same state so don't have to answer this one. And, are you kidding, butterfingers cups are so yummy! We have a lot of children here too so a lot of trick or treaters. A little candy leftover. OH, love Milk Duds.........I'm getting ready to enjoy November too.........

  9. No children came to our place on Halloween, which is good since I don't do Halloween

  10. Cute post! We ran away from home, and the candy I bought we (we mostly I) ate. Snickers, of course.I think I might have seen these Butterfingers Cups, but I did not buy them. The one I have searched and searched for I don't even now it's name. However, I think I bought it in Walmart where they often have test items, some of which never make it into the mainstream. This one was indescribably delicious: It was made by Reese, but it was like a KitKat -- a chocolate coated wafer cookie with the peanut butter in the filling! Heaven in the mouth! And of course I can't find anymore, which is probably a good thing since I ate most of them. Hence the regular gym visits...
