Christmas Decor: Upstairs Railing Garland

Wednesday, November 16, 2016

Happy Hump Day, My Lovelies!  I wanted to pop in and share our upstairs railing garland.  I looked back in my blog archives, and I couldn't find any photos of our old garland.  That's because it has been worn-out looking since 2010!  We've had it for a long time, and it was time for an update.

Here it is:

I bought the flocked garland from Chelsea Lane.  It's six feet long.  This is the small landing between our daughters' bedrooms, overlooking our foyer.  This is the only place in our house we can have garland because we don't have a pretty staircase with a banister: We only have pajama stairs in our kitchen.

I bought the ornaments from Pier 1 with rewards bucks, plus I got one free!

All ornaments are from the Peppermint Party collection.

It isn't a lighted garland, but there are so many sequins and so much glitter the garland shines!

Do you decorate your banister/stairway with a garland?  Do you use fresh greenery or artificial?

Until next time...

Blessings!
Ricki Jill

  3. RJ, yes, I have wrapped the banister in garland and I really love how it looks. Your railing is so festive and looks like a toy shop, I love it! The girls will so enjoy. I am in love with the text and cross (couldn't help but zero in on that) over the door, gorgeous and what a wonderful thought to have as you come down the stairs every morning. Looking forward to tomorrow...........

  8. Ricki, I love it! It's so cute & so festive, too! I usually decorate our banister but it's a very small one so I can't do anything too extravagant.

  9. Hi,
Yes, we have a banister, I decorate it with artificial pine boughs and real pine cones. We purchased our pine boughs years ago, but they have held up so well and look so real in color.
I love what you have done, beautiful. You are getting me excited to decorate for Christmas.

  11. Amazing, as always. I have to say I have a crush on the penguin. Sooooooo cute. We have had to update recently as well, so I got a tree last year in January - the last one at Home Depot, for maybe 10% or less, under $50 anyways, but I ended up giving it to Kyra and Dev - they are renting a house and the 3 grandsons need a gorgeous tree more than I do.

I am always inspired by your creativity, so very lovely.
