Advent Day 5

Saturday, December 5, 2015

Happy Advent Season, My Lovelies!  This year on my Advent Calendar I want to share Christmas traditions from around the world along with a daily scripture reading.

Today I'm sharing one of the most unique Christmas traditions I found, and it's a tradition from Sweden.   Swedes on Christmas Eve afternoon watch Donald Duck! Every year, since 1959, at 3.00pm on Christmas Eve, the TV station TV1 shows the Disney special "From All of Us to All of You" or in Swedish it's "Kalle Anka och hans vänner önskar God Jul" meaning "Donald Duck and his friends wish you a Merry Christmas." About 40 to 50% of the Swedish population stop to watch it!

This year I'm using my 7 Gypsies Vintage Receipt Holder for my Advent Calendar.  It's getting full quickly!  I will put a ribbon on it before hanging it on the wall.

Luke 2:6-7

6 While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, 7 and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them.

Until next time...

Blessings!

  2. Hysterical! I never thought of The Donald (Duck) as being Christmasy.
