St. Patrick's Day Tablescape in the Dining Room

Thursday, March 13, 2014

Happy Thursday!  St. Patrick's Day is Monday, and I can't wait.  I decorated three rooms in the house, including the dining room.  I'm using the cabbage leaf plates because cabbages are thrown from the floats during the St. Patrick's Day parade in New Orleans.

I recycled the candles and holders I used during Mardi Gras.  I bought them at the after Christmas sale from Pier 1.

I wanted to buy some Bells of Ireland at the flower market, but I bought some white roses that were on sale.  They were out of Bells of Ireland, but I hope to get some over the weekend.

The napkins are new.  I bought them 50% off at Sur la Table.  They are in last year's Pantone Color of the Year: Emerald.

The vegetable pitcher is vintage Laura Ashley.

  6. I just realized that I can set a green table on Monday night. Our St. Patrick's Day party is on Saturday.

I am off to the store to buy supplies to make strawberry pie for Pi Day. My son and his girlfriend said they need to celebrate it tonight. I said it is only 3.13, but he pointed out that Pi Day can be any day thing month since it is 3.14 all month.

  7. How pretty! I much prefer your table cabbage plates to being pelted by cabbages in New Orleans (ouch!). ;)

  16. Fun and festive, Ricki Jill. Love to use my cabbage leaf plates for this holiday, but went with tartan this year because I received some green tartan as a gift. I stopped by TJ Maxx this afternoon and brought home a fabulous cabbage tureen. I think it might be my Easter centerpiece if I find a pretty hydrangea plant to put in it. ;-)
    Happy St. Pat's Day!

  18. Hi Ricki! It's been a while since I visited your blog. Life and my schedule has been crazy lately. Hence, my blog hopping adventures took a step back.

I like the mats under each plates. Is it made of wood? In my country, we use same materials for a real dinner plate. What we usually do here, we buy cut rite or paper plates to serve as lining for the nice wooden dinner plates.

Wishing you a great weekend Ricki!
