Friday Confessional 12/13/13

Friday, December 13, 2013

Welcome to Friday Confessional, hosted by the *lovely* Aubrey @ High-Heeled Love!

This has been a very difficult week….as you shall see….

I confess…

I confess that I've had a bit of a set-back this week with my mast cell issues. I had to go back to the doctor on Wednesday and get a script for Prednisone. Prednisone is from Satan.  I won't sleep for a couple of weeks.  I hate it. *sadface*

I'm still red and it looks like someone slapped me repeatedly in both cheeks for a very long time….

I confess…

I confess that this is what my art studio looked like during Thanksgiving…

…and this is what it looks like now.  Meh!

I confess…

I confess that I can't even keep-up with the advent candle….it should be on the thirteen!  Plus, I DON"T EVEN HAVE OUR CHRISTMAS TREE DECORATED!!!

*runs to the corner and cries shamefully*

I confess…

I confess that I've been a naughty girl today at Pier 1 and Ulta.  Someone should take away my purse while I'm on Prednisone!  :/
But most of the purchases were gifts.  :)

I confess…

I even want to be MORE of a naughty girl….with the Beekman Boys….  :/
I want to bake with them in their kitchen and then go ding-dong-ditch someone and leave some scrumptious goodies and Anthropologie delights.

Check out this video:

I confess…

I confess that I must needs remove the Christmas ticker from my sidebar….it's driving me bloody mad!!!  It's stressing me out!

Well, that's all I've got.  With all this energy, methinks it's a good idea to clean-out my closet.

What do you have to confess???

Until next time…

Blessings!
Ricki Jill

  1. Oh my goodness, that prednisone is making your crazy! lol
Christmas is coming on a fast train...it always does, but this year, it's exceptionally fast!
I hope you're feeling better soon.
I guess now is the time to confess that I also was a naughty girl at Ulta today, too.

  2. Oh sweet RJ! Your week sounds like mine started this week. I had to confess all about it. I hope you have some rest to be able to handle it all.

  3. Oh dear, I don't know what mast cells are but am sorry to hear of your problem and the prednisone keeping you awake. It sounds like you are finding fun along the way though, happy to hear. I am reading the new Fannie Flagg book too, that you mention in the previous post.

  4. Chill, girl! That prednisone is hard to deal with, I agree. But you will feel better when it's done? I did some damage at Pier1 today myself….

  5. Oh...I have been on the dreaded Prednisone many times for asthma. Miracle drug for sure but it also makes you an insomniac and increases your appetite. Great!!!

    Hang in there! :)

    XO,
    Jane

  6. I confess that when I was putting the chocolate bear in the December 13 bag on the Advent Calendar today I ate one from the package . . . I confess that I am spending too much money this Christmas on presents, but it is so much fun . . . I confess that I am going to order my daughter the aqua cheese knives from Anthropologie that A Cottage Nest posted on her blog today . . . I confess I am behind in reading blogs . . . and the house is not as clean as it should be even though it looks neat.

more than anything, I HATE . . . HATE . . . HATE taking prednison when my asthma/bronchitis get out of hand.

  7. By the way, I would love to come over and listen to lovely music and help you decorate your tree and your art studio is immaculate in comparison to my creative space.

  8. I'm sorry you aren't feeling well friend. That's never a good time but at Christmas it definitely does add stress. I will confess that I've bought myself a few tops and jewelry while shopping. Who can pass up the deals this time of year?

  12. Dear RJ, OH my, that is one killer med to be on! Don't feel bad, I am so behind in everything and I don't have any excuse! I have lots to tell you so I'll drop you a note. Take care and I think your closet is a great way to use that energy!

  13. Sorry that you're still sick. But I happen to think a short time on Prednisone, is wonnnnnnderful. Well, I had to have it, when I could not get rid of a baddddd cold. Doc wrote for the Prednisone, and for a night time cough syrup with "extra." Sooo, I was active in the day (not my usual mode) and slept at night.

Annnnnd, all my come-and-go arthritic hurts, were gone!!!!!!! It eliminates all the inflamation in the bod, I guess. And it was super. But that was, for a badddd cold.

Mmmm, you really have a white sofa in your art studio? Really? Really?

I'd not want any count-down clocks in my face either. Countdowns are by their nature, stressful. They are supposed to be. Their purpose is to make one do, do, do, do, do.

    Yish.... :-)))))))))

Hope you are all better, very sooooon!

  14. *hugs* It's really hard to accept that we don't control our bodies or hormones or cells, but there it is. I hope the Prednisone isn't terribly bad BUT you can combine that non-sleeping with tree decorating, studio clearing, etc and feel more productive. So that's a two-birds-one-stone bonus.

Yeah, remove that Christmas countdown, would ya? It's freaking me out, too. (and I have all gifts bought and wrapped, house decorated, etc....but I'm not ready to roll into January, which will be the scariest month of my life thus far).

  15. I hope it works! Have you tried a homeopathic doctor? I have one but not for allergies; some issues the homeopath manages better than my traditional doctor. It takes time to figure it out.

I like the way your studio looks. I have lots of spots in the house that look like that due to my daughter and myself. Flat surfaces are the worse.

I love to look in Anthropologie. I make an exception that it is not secondhand when their dishes are on clearance.

  17. So sorry you aren't feeling well, but hope the meds help. Good luck with the tree and all the Christmas chaos!

  18. That Christmas ticker is nice I like it but I get how it would drive you crazy.

  19. Ricki Jill!!!!! I am sorry that your week took a dive. My dining room would like to raise your studio table by five more piles of clutter and ribbon! xoxoxox

  20. Maybe the bright side is that the insomnia will give you time to get the tree trimmed =) I'm kidding. I hope you feel better soon.

Thanks for joining the Friday Confessional party.

  21. Dec. 15th Re: Your question, in my blog comments...

No I did not take the photo, I am using for my Header now... (The beautiful red building, in the snow.) :-)

When I get a Header pic, from the Net, I put the Header Pic Source information, at the top of my Sidebar. With a click-able link, to it's source.

  23. RJ,
As you can tell by the timing of my comment, I confess I haven't had time to open my computer this past weekend. Full steam, any way you slice it, this time of year seems to always trump sitting by the fire with cocoa in hand. :D
I hope your weekend, especially the sleep part, was better than predicted. Get well my friend.
    Karen
