Hello, My Lovelies!  Welcome to My Happy List!  I hope you'll share your happy posts with us this week.

My Happy List

1.   I'm planting pansies today.  They will last throughout the winter here in Central Alabama. These are the three varieties I'm thinking about planting:

Pansies always make me happy!  I'll post photos of our containers soon.  :D

2.   I've seen some lovely Thanksgiving parfaits on Pinterest.  Although I'm not hosting the holiday this year (my mom is), I thought it would be fun to make one during the week for my family.  Check these out:

decisions, decisions.....

3.   Sunday was a very special day for our family.  Shelley was baptized and I was confirmed in the Episcopal Church.  We are truly blessed to have found such a welcoming and loving church home.  My mom, Big Mama (my grandmother), Shanley Belle, her boyfriend Charles, Shelley's best friends Alexis and Bailey, my best friend Ainslie and her daughter Reed were all there to support us on our special day.  Mr. Art @ Home presented Shelley for baptism.  She is such a daddy's girl!  I grew-up in a completely different denomination, but I feel much more at home at St. Stephen's.

St. Stephen's is often called God's Treehouse.  It's like a retreat in the middle of the city!

Which parfait would you make?  Leave a comment and tell me.

Until next time...

Blessings!
Ricki Jill

  2. What a blessing, my friend. I am so happy for you and for your precious daughter. How nice to have your family there to share this happy time. Enjoy your day...oh, and I would have to make a sugar free parfait and that just doesn't sound as good, does it? haha Sweet hugs!

  4. Okay, so let me get to the parfait right away...hmmmm...maybe all three but definitely the first one. Oh I am so making this for our next full family get together!!
And RJ, what a special day for you and your family. I am glad you have found a church that makes you feel welcome and at home. That is how it should be.

  6. Mmm, that first parfait, the pumpkin cheesecake one, is the one that caught my eye! Looks like such a fun treat!!
When I was little, my neighbour/cousin used to invite us over to swim in her pool with her kids, and often treated us to "chocolate parfaits" - a glass filled with layers of chocolate pudding and whipped cream, with chocolate shavings on top. As an adult, I emailed her to find out her recipe, because in my mind they were so fancy and must've taken a lot of work - she laughed and told me it was just that simply, layers of instant chocolate pudding and Cool Whip, with some chocolate shaved on top! Yum!!! And now I'm craving one ;)

  10. I love pansies! How sweet. :) And double yay for finding a church that feels like home (and also for not forcing Shelley to be baptized as a baby, but waiting until she could make the choice herself!)

Can a jar cheesecake be called a parfait? I always think of parfait as layers of Greek yogurt, granola, and fruit....but now that I think about it, that seems limiting. I'd make the cheesecake one. :D

  13. I'm picturing Donkey telling Shrek how much he loves parfait. I'd like them all, but if I had to choose it would be the cranberry orange one. And aren't pansies such happy looking flowers? Happy for you and your family to have found such a special church :)

  14. Congratulations to both you and Shelley. I recently started attending the oldest church here. It is downtown and is Presbyterian. Not what my background is either, but a perfect fit for me. xo Laura

  15. The first one with salted caramel sauce for me.
Just planted some violas yesterday. Love their happy little faces.
I grew up in the Lutheran church, but as an adult became an Episcopalian.

  17. RJ, how wonderful about finding a church home! Congratulations and Congratulations to Shelley! What a beautiful thing!!!!

I love pansies, they definitely would not make an Iowa Winter, however it is not normal right now for Iowa (the weather) I have roses blooming still. Very shocking!
