Friday Confessions: Naughty or Nice?

Friday, November 29, 2013

Happy Friday, My Lovelies!

I hope all of you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!  I've had a great week, and I have a few things to confess!!!

I confess…

I confess that I've cooked many batches of cookies, and taste tested waaaaaaay too many…for quality assurance of course!  ;P

I wanted to get a head start on holiday baking, and after four batches of cookies so far I'd say I'm well on my way!

Plus, I'm participating in:

Stay tuned...

Baking and freezing cookies ahead of Christmas?  NICE!

I confess…

I confess that I chastised my daughters for taking their phones into church for our Thanksgiving service Wednesday night….only to have our priest ask the congregation take out our phones and text someone not present and express our thankfulness and/or gratitude.   :/

*forehead slap*

I'm still indecisive over who's NAUGHTY, Russell (our priest) or I!!!

I confess…

I confess that we Treleavens don't do Black Friday, and certainly not Black Thursday.  *BUT* one of my daughters BEGGED to go to her favorite store at 6AM for a big sale (extra 50% off sale items).  We went, and there was NO ONE out at that time!  You could have shot a cannon down HWY 280….methinks everyone had already returned home from the door busters!

Upon arrival, there was a "bait and switch…"  Everything in the store was 20% off.  I was not a happy camper.  But the good news is I'm almost done with Christmas shopping, yay!

Having Christmas shopping practically done?  VERY NICE!
Having shops baiting and switching???  VERY, VERY NAUGHTY!  :/

I confess…

I confess that 2014 will be the year of doing, so I want Christmas presents that will enable me to do more fun stuff!!!

I must needs some series 7 paint brushes!!!  :D

Cute sweater from Sundance

From L'Occitane, the cure for dry winter hands

I love me some Smart Wool socks…one of my favorite things on the planet Earth!

I really want this book!

Santa, Baby…..I've been a VERY NICE GIRL this year!!!  ;P

I confess…

I confess that I've been VERY NAUGHTY calling everyone by their elf name. (Thanks, Vandy)
What's yours????

Hello!  My name is Pudding Peppermint!!!  :/

I confess…

I confess that I'm terribly nervous about the Iron Bowl tomorrow.  For those of you who don't follow college football, the Iron Bowl is the grudge match between The University of Alabama Crimson Tide v. the Auburn Tigers.

NICE:  Roll Tide!
NAUGHTY:  War Eagle!

Until next time…

Roll Tide Roll!!!

  1. Pudding Peppermint, nice to meet you. I am Pudding Twinkle Toes. LOL
Good for you on the head start for baking, We Black Friday Shop big time. Taj is done, Noah is done, The older boys barely started and the same with the girls. I am going to try to paint a painting for Emily too. She really wanted this painting but it was sold by the time she showed us. So I went to Michaels and stocked up on canvas at 60% off! I love Black Friday! Dad was sick, so he canceled Thanksgiving. I am glad you all had a great one. Oh... definitely NICE.

  2. You are brave. I did black Friday shopping online today and we decorated the house. But no one out is a nice surprise I am sure. Hope you all had a nice Thanksgiving.

  3. I don't do black Friday and instead exercised in a warm pool. I saw the mall and it looked like every parking spot was full, so that is a nice boost for the economy. I like fancy cute socks like you do.

  4. I don't think my Elf name even makes sense - Cookie Floppy-feet. I might go for my alternate identity and have Merry Floppy-feet, but what the heck do floppy-feet have to do with elves???

We have Black Friday creep up here in Canada for the past few years and I went today for the first time after work. I got a new sweater and shirt at Banana Republic at a good price.

I love your I Confess posts - so much fun. And I confess I'm curious to see what you baked. I've done 5 batches, but two didn't work out well for various reasons so I may do other ones next week.

  5. I am Happy Sugar-Socks. LOL I wish I could say I started baking for Christmas, but I must confess that I just finished putting away the dishes from Thanksgiving. I hosted 16 people, and it takes a while to get everything back in it's place ;o) I love the Smart Wool socks and placed an order with Sundance yesterday. No Black Friday shopping for me ever, but I do shop on Saturday to support the local shops. I'm heading to an Indie Garage Sale today. I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving.

  6. The star cookies are so pretty and that book looks so interesting.

I went out yesterday for the first time, because my daughter would not let it go. We arrived at Nordstrom's at 10:00 am, but their parking garage was practically empty. I couldn't believe it. She found the sweater she wanted, and kept her promise on the other two stores she wanted to visit. When we arrived back at the top floor of the garage about an hour tor two later it was full!

The phone custom is something I do too. I hardly use my phone for texts, and I don't understand this obsession and attachment to phones.

We are routing for ASU over U of A tomorrow! I hope your team wins too.

  14. Hi RJ,

I'm Cookie Angel-Pants (really?). I don't do black friday either, but bait and switch?! That is terrible.
I'm sorry A. lost. We watched the game and was surprised that Auburn pulled that final score.
I have the book you'd like...I won it from a sweet blogger I follow. I'd like to send it to you. I don't want it (not that it's bad, I'm just trying to pare down). Email me your address and I'll send it to you. :)
    xo,
    Karen
