My Happy List: My Mailbox Is Seriously Full! :D

My Happy List
Rules:
1.   Grab my delightful button coding for your post above.
2.   Link-up a happy post.
3.   Visit other bloggers and enjoy!

Good Morning!  How are my bloggy buddies today?  I hope you're having a happy week so far, have posted about it, and will link-up!

My Happy List

1.   I'm so excited about the Chaotic Goddesses Local Flavor Swap.  I received my package from Salt Lake City today, and I can't wait to share with you in a future post all the wonderful surprises Miss Angie sent me!  *squee*

Here's a little sneak-peek:

Salt water taffy....like three pounds of it!!!  :D

I was thinking of a way to decorate the dining room table this week, and Miss Angie sent me my answer:  a bowl of taffy on a linen runner.

It takes a really big bowl to hold three pounds of taffy!

Chaotic Goddess Swaps make me so happy!!!

2.   I won our August book club selection book this month!  I *heart* my online book club, If You Give A Blogger A Book....Club!!!  Thanks so much, Connie!!!

You really should join us....we always read fantastic books!

3.   I ordered one of Amy's amazing dreamcatchers for Shelley's room. She LOVES it!

Look how pretty Amy wrapped the package!

The dreamcatcher is hanging on her headboard.

4.   I'm enjoying being at home.  I've been doing lots of chores, but I've actually enjoyed it!  My kitchen is almost completely organized, and I'll finish tomorrow once I've tidied-up the spice cabinet.  Being home makes me happy!

I've been burning a summer candle today that smells like the beach:  Pomelo & Sea Salt!

I scrubbed this cutting board table today, too!

5.   Summer and sunshine has finally arrived in Central Alabama.  It has been an unseasonably mild and VERY wet summer.  I'm not ready for summer to be over because we didn't have much of one. But I'm not complaining, really. We aren't burning-up like the West, and we aren't suffering through a drought. Happy to see the sun, though!

Andrea is so thoughtful.  She went to the beach and sent me this postcard.  I really want a beach trip!

6.   I finally got this book @ the library.....talk about a long waiting list!

I've made my family happy by cooking a couple of recipes from this book!

I will share a recipe and review of this fantastic book either tomorrow or Thursday, so stay tuned!

7.   Y'all have made me very happy!  Participation in my two weekly link parties have been pretty good!  Thanks so much for supporting my link parties!!!

Until next time...

Blessings!
Ricki Jill

  1. I'm going to work on my "Happy" post and will be back a little later to link up (hopefully).

"Modern Hospitality" looks so good that I rushed right to my e-Library catalog to see if either library I visit has it yet. No luck...bummer. I just may have to purchase this one. I look forward to your book review. Thanks!

  2. I love the happy list to put all the fun miscellaneous things going on in our lives. So glad you host this, RJ. The taffy is so pretty and colorful - too good to eat - eye candy haha. This was my first swap with the Goddess and it was so much fun! I'll have to look into the blogger book club - maybe it would help me to read! It's something I don't take the time to do. The dreamcatcher looks awesome with the shabby headboard - good job! I just love your happy list!

  3. I was at school working the Welcome Desk when I got the text that your book had arrived! I almost squealed with delight!

I adore Salt Water Taffy! The kids and I bought a ton of it in San Francisco.

  4. I am so so so glad that it worked out for you! I had all of these littler things, but they were too much for the small box I had, so I had to update and I thought a giant bag of taffy would make a nice addition! Haha!

So my first time linking up is a fail, as my happy post doesn't exactly follow this format you all seem to be using. Will work on it for next time!

  9. Ricki Jill I hope Shelley's first day of school was awesome and that all is going great.
The rain has stopped for a bit today and I am motivated now to stop looking out the window and get to work.
I am always so inspired by the books you post. I am headed to amazon now, lol.
Loving how the dream catcher looks on Shelleys shabby chic bed. So perfect.
Glad ya found it for her :)

  13. Hi RJ, Love your Happy List today. A bowl full of taffy would make me very happy and it looks great in your MacKenzie Childs bowl. Love the sunflowers on the kitchen table as well, they always make me happy. I know we both will be happy come Saturday :)

  14. Oh, how lucky you won the book! I am so enjoying it so far. I could not put it down last night. I ended up getting it on my Nook this time to start right away, once she announced. Thankfully I could read while Todd is sleeping on my Nook. I stayed up until 3:35 (having to get up at 6 am) until my Nook was not charged any longer. I could not put the book down!

Great Happy List. It makes me happy thatyou are happy.
