St. Patrick's Day Decorations

Sunday, March 6, 2011

March is one of my very favorite months.  The fun starts with St. Patrick's Day on the 17th, Big Mama's birthday on the 18th (Big Mama is my grandmother), and our wedding anniversary on the 19th.

So I like to celebrate all the fun that is March by decorating for St. Patrick's Day.  With this post I am trying to redeem myself from the mantel debacle.  I was very lucky to find and win a lot of Longaberger St. Patrick's Day stuff on ebay *squee*.

I also found some shamrocks at the grocery store.  I hope they bring me some luck!

I usually decorate with yellow, green, blue, and white flowers in March. Closer to the trinity of holidays, I will go to the flower market and buy Bells of Ireland and put together some pretty arrangements.  Bells of Ireland also symbolize good luck.

I have twelve little wooden charms for this heart-shaped wreath.  Of course there is a shamrock for March!

Pier1 has these cute chair cushions.  They are twenty percent off, plus they have a coupon in their catalog for $10.00 off of every $50.00 purchase.  I could not pass these up!

Do you decorate for St. Patrick's Day?  If so, how?

  13. Hi Ricki, here in Italy is a beautifull sunny day but I can't go outside cause of my nose..sneeze every three second ..but luckily I have no fever today...so tomorrow I'll go to work..I missed it ...(but I miss my home too when I am at work)...maybe I have a sort of double personality...as you can imagine in Italy we don't do decoration for St. Patrick Day,usually here particular decoration was made only for X-Mas days or for Easter...and I'm so admired of your tradition.Kisses,Annalisa

  17. LOL Carol! My husband is Cornish, our last name is Treleaven. Most Cornish names begin with either "Tre or "Pen." My family's heritage is mostly Scottish and Scotch-Ulster (Northern Ireland), but they consider themselves Irish. I don't think their neighbors to the South would agree, but all the family's stories and lore are much more Irish in nature than Scottish! My grandmother used to scare me to death with stories about the Sidhe!!! :D
